Any dog ​​needs protection, love, care and responsibility from the person with whom it lives. But it happens that the owners let their pets go for a walk without supervision, explaining their position by giving them a sense of freedom. But most often, the owners are simply too lazy to walk their wards, which dooms them to all sorts of troubles. For example, any extraneous sound arouses interest in the dog. This leads to her running away and getting lost. And sometimes neglected walks end for the animal with disability or death.

Self-walking danger for your pet

Self-walking a dog is fraught with various consequences. And if one day your dog did not return from a walk, it means that something from this list happened to him:

• the dog was injured or died under the wheels of a car, train;

• caught an infectious disease (this is especially dangerous for unvaccinated young animals); 

• the dog ate poison intended for rodents or scattered by dog ​​hunters;

• became a victim of capture or shooting;

• she was attacked by other animals, such as a pack of stray dogs, and even if she did not die, you may take a long time to heal her;

• the animal became a victim of the use of pyrotechnics: a frightened dog very often runs away from home and then cannot find the way back; 

• the pet got on the bait for hunting dogs or dog fights;

• ended up in the wrong hands: often these are “black” breeders hunting for thoroughbred dogs; 

• the dog fell into a well, manhole or construction trench.

Danger to humans and other animals

Any dog ​​left without owner’s supervision can cause dissatisfaction with people and a potential danger to other animals:

• it can damage someone else’s property;

• “dog weddings” not only disturb the peace, but also exacerbate the problems of homeless animals, lead to infection with dangerous infections;  

• a dog can bite a child or an adult;

• its excrement is dangerous to the health of other dogs and people.

A separate problem faces those who live in the private sector. Owners like to let their pets go free-range. A domestic dog is not preoccupied with looking for food, but may bite a cyclist or attack neighborhood cats and dogs.

An owner who lets his dog go on his own may be fined. The amount of fines is set at the level of the local administration. In some cases, the owner faces not only administrative, but also criminal liability. If a dog is on the list of 12 potentially dangerous breeds and it attacked a person, the owner will be required to appear in court. According to the new amendments, the owner is obliged to walk the dog on a short leash and in a muzzle if it represents a potentially dangerous breed. A pet’s collar must have a tag with information about him, his owner and a telephone number for communication. The dog does not have the right to move freely and uncontrollably in the yards, on children’s and sports grounds, to be without an owner in the elevator, on the roadway, in common areas.
